1st Draft: The Next Level / Magazine

Image
Below, I have published the first draft of my Magazine for AICE!!! It has been a long, stressful yet exciting process and experience for a student like me. It truly has been a long  road,  but I am proud to introduce my Magazine, "The Next Level".

Production 8: Starting the feature article

I  finished  working on my final idea for my magazines.  With  consideration of my goal from my last blog post to finish my feature article, I did  carry out  this today. I also  started  working on  content  page just  leaving   myself   to   finish  the cover page.  I was able to finish proofreading the feature article introduction and inserting images into the layout I chose. I chose to do a bold layout or  template  but also allowed for my images and text to be present side by side. After conversating with my  partner,  we agreed to add  the title of our magazine and page numbers to  all  our pages except the title page.  Below is a screenshot from my magazine of what we decided it to look like:      The images I chose to insert throughout my magazine represent  almost all  the sports that are available at Sarasota High-school: vo...

Production 7: Proofread

This week, I assigned my goal to finishing the feature article either this week or early next week. I finished my interviews with my two seniors, so I started writing their mini autobiography’s today as well. After re-reading what the people I had interviewed said or wrote, I was struggling figuring out how to make it into a mini biography proving the impact that sports have had on these athletes. I began by making groups of the questions and the answers I received making it easier for myself to figure out what to talk about. I chose to interview varsity football and basketball player Terrell pack and varsity softball and golf Elizabeth Small. I  am pleased with my  decision  on not  interview ing  any administration or coaches because I t would have been a struggle to  receiv e  a response from them about an interview or just questions for them to answer.

Production 6: Ideas for photos used in magazine

Today I worked on completing my ideas for the types of photos I will be importing into Adobe  InDesign for  my magazine. I plan to  make my cover page image a photo of one athlete such as a Senior football player or a team picture with multiple  athletes in the shot. For my feature article I plan of having up close head shots or action photos of the people I will be interviewing .  With consideration, I already took  different  angles of the Senior Elizabeth Smalls, I plan  to use  her as one of my  autobiography or interviews.  The other athlete for the autobiography will be Senior Terrell Pack but I must  complete  which photos I would like to insert in my magazine that I have taken of him.  Throughout my magazine I will insert  a wide variety of action shots from both female and male sports. As said  previously,   I feel it  is important to include both female and  male shots to  ...

Production 5: Feature article & questions

Image
Today I worked on giving out my questions to the people I will be interviewing for my feature article.  Today this  will  include  Varsity  athletes Terrell Pack and Elizabeth Small  with consideration that  both are seniors at Sarasota Highschool. After reviewing my plans for feature article , I have concluded that I will not be adding the Administration or Coaches input. This is because not only did I receive no response from them, but I also was not able to set an interview times due to how busy they are. I feel although I lack this portion of the original goals for my feature article, I feel that I am in a strong position with my ideas moving forward . * above is screenshot of the shared document with Terrell Pack ; he responded through this document by typing under my questions            I also worked on completing my introduction and conclusion for my feature article so t...

Production 4: Preparation for interviews for the feauture article

Image
To conduct my feature article,  I narrowed   down  my subject  figuring out   who I  would be interviewing or discussing the topic with. I have concluded that I will be speaking to Elizabeth Smalls, Terrell Pack, Coach  Ashenburner  from sports administration  or Coach Ahles. Another perspective  I have thought about   including   in my feature article is from our tv/ film production boss  Mrs.   D  .  With the addition of this interview the viewer will be  able to see from her perspective why sports are their only "out". With the many changes to who I will be interviewing I do believe this could  possibly change  again depending on the needs to complete my vision of my feature article. I have conducted a list of questions or idea starters for the people being interviewed.   Questions for the high school athletes:    -         How long hav...
