Final Draft : The Next Level

With the consideration to the  constant changes  this school year has consisted of, looking back at the beginning of the school year I never imagined myself  completing  my project officially. This class , course curriculum, requirements and expectations  were hard to grasp onto when going over the syllabus provided by Cambridge Aice. Although I feel as if I met the  expectations, even if I did not, this project suppressed my strong mindset or the normal courses I have previously taken. When it came to developing my creativity or even showing a deeper side of determination to complete this project, I am pleased I took this course. Coming into this course with nothing but concerns  weather this was because a new teacher was assigned to teach this course or the change of syllabus for the 2020-2021 school year. I hope and pray I  fully completed what was expected of me for this course. Now that this part of the portfolio is completed, now it is ...

Post Production 2

Today was my final day working on my magazine project before it is  completed  and s end  to AICE for grading. I feel  greatly confident  with the work I have produced with consideration the extra am ount I took to ensuring my confidence in my project. I sat down with my partner Hailey one last time during our class period. During this meeting we went over the  corrections  we made, examined each of our  magazine's  side by side to ensure it was th e same  format,  and were  giving   each other   constructive   criticism  on how we  both  did throughout this experience .  We both agree this experience  truly  allowed both of us to  find  interests in  designing   and brought out a side of creativity that has been hidden for a while. After giving each other feedback, I  will go home today and  personally  look over my proje...

Post Production 1

Today I worked on editing my magazine after reviewing my feedback and figuring out what I needed to fix. Specifically, I worked on editing the spelling, grammar and punctuation of every page in my magazine.         In my first feature article created, or both pages I noticed I had many errors that could have potentially caused me to lose points for this project and ruin my product. This consisted of grammatical errors, length of the lines or other eye-catching errors.       In order to make sure each of the words sat evenly on and off the images, I used to guidelines in Adobe InDesign. To do this I used the  link below to better my  understanding  of this  tool and also screenshot an example of myself using this tool.  A screenshot of when I was teaching myself how to use this tool ; Link I used that guid...

Peer Review

I would be lying if I said I was not nervous to present my magazine project for the AICE paper, but after presenting and receiving this feedback I feel  greatly confident  in my product.  All  the feedback I received I took into consideration what I thought I should or should not change about my project. I truly did appreciate being given this opportunity to  present,  receive feedback and reflect on what I need to do in-order to have a successfully AICE magazine to send to Cambridge.                When examining the feedback, I received for what my classmates though I should alter or change, I realized I was not far off when it came to corrections with what I had to present .  Some minor details to change I noted was to center the words “Senior” and “College “on the second page of my feature article so that way the words evenly hang off half on and half off the pictures of the seniors. Anothe...

1st Draft: The Next Level / Magazine

Image
Below, I have published the first draft of my Magazine for AICE!!! It has been a long, stressful yet exciting process and experience for a student like me. It truly has been a long  road,  but I am proud to introduce my Magazine, "The Next Level".

Production 8: Starting the feature article

Image
I  finished  working on my final idea for my magazines.  With  consideration of my goal from my last blog post to finish my feature article, I did  carry out  this today. I also  started  working on  content  page just  leaving   myself   to   finish  the cover page.  I was able to finish proofreading the feature article introduction and inserting images into the layout I chose. I chose to do a bold layout or  template  but also allowed for my images and text to be present side by side. After conversating with my  partner,  we agreed to add  the title of our magazine and page numbers to  all  our pages except the title page.  Below is a screenshot from my magazine of what we decided it to look like:      The images I chose to insert throughout my magazine represent  almost all  the sports that are available at Sarasota High-school: vo...
